General Catch-Up- Thursday 8th June - 1:39 pm - 17-06-2006

Alright, although I have been updating recently all my posts have been Snippets. So, for all those who have been wondering what I’ve been up to, here goes:

The Spies
As usual on a Thursday a group of us went down the Linear. Today it was Brooke, Glyn, Dave and I. When we arrived we sat down and got all the stuff out from out bag that we needed. Then we heard a yapping coming from somewhere. I decided to go and have a look. Slightly afraid, I took Glyn with me.

We looked around but there was no one in sight. We returned to Base Camp.

Then we heard the yapping again. We knew that if there had been a dog walker we’d have seen him/her so it must have been a stray. It sounded like a small dog but it didn’t seem likely that there was a small stray dog wandering around Linear Walk. Then I realised what it must have been.

WOLF!” I shouted.

Chaos ensued. Although no one thought that it was likely that it was a wolf, we were mildy frightened anyway. Then a voice came from where the yapping came from.

It’s the police!

Oh shit,” we thought. The police are here. It was a few moments before Dave realised the obvious.

Do you really think that the police would yap like a dog? Do you think that’s a new tactic they have?

This was a fairly good point. I thought about this momentarily. Firstly, we had heard yapping which we deduced must have come from a wolf. Then we had heard someone claim to be the police.

Suddenly it dawned on me.

Police Wolves!

We were really in the shit.

We eventually settled down and forgot about the Police Wolves until Glyn shouted out “It’s them! Run!

At first I assumed he meant the Police Wolves, and that we should run away, but he appeared to be running towards the origin of the sounds. I followed him quick on his heels to discover that a group of boys in my year had been hiding in the bushes yapping and pretending to be the police.

Don’t worry, it’s just some kids in our year,” we shouted to our friends.

Everything was alright.
