Sorry for not blogging. Here is a blog that I started a few weeks ago…
Start of unfinished blog
As previously mentioned, I have quit Co-op to focus on my studies. This has been my first co-opless weekend and I have to admit, I haven’t done too much studying.
Friday the 21st
This was supposed to be the last night out in town with Phil, Martin and Freya but didn’t quite turn out like that. I received a text from Martin saying that LSE have changed their minds and he won’t be able to go for another week. So, we’ll have another opportunity to say goodbye next week. Then it turned out that Freya wouldn’t be coming out because she hadn’t packed for uni yet. Niiice.
So, it was Phil’s last night. Fair dos.
Martin and I got the 7 bus into town. I was absolutely knackered already so I had some caffeine pills. Instead of waking me up they just made my legs feel like jelly, so that was pretty rubbish. On the bus I became even more tired so I decided to get some Powerade when we got in. My neck was also hurting so I got a pint of milk too.
(For those who don’t know, when my neck hurts I can drink milk and make it better.)
We met Gav and Lauren and went up to the Viewpoint. Gav was already a bit tipsy, and in regards to his humour he wasn’t really on good form. Poor chap.
After hanging out for a bit we headed to Rescue Rooms. A live act was on in the venue: Warner E Hodges, for a price of £11. They opened the doors between the bar and the venue and said we could go in for free. The reason: only two people had bought a ticket.
The four of us went in and watched them for a bit, and were joined by Phil, Genni, Grace and Teresa. There were eight of us, and four other members of the audience. I thought they were quite good (they played Fire by Jimi Hendrix very well) so I was dead surprised by the low turn-out. It turned out though that the people who were supposed to have promoted the gig had not done that, so no one knew it was on.
After a while we wandered back into the bar and sat down. Martin, Phil, Genni and I shared a Magic Bus, and then we all started a game of monopoly. It was about 10pm. The plan was to play for a bit and then stop to go to LoveShack before 11 to avoid paying.
At 1030 Tom, Simon and Mikey all arrived. At 11 we were still playing. At 12 Phil, Genni and Gav left to go home. We decided to go at 1.
It became 1, we still hadn’t finished. Eventually we got the 2 bus home after I had absolutely slaughtered everyone (Hotels on the Light Blue, Orange, Yellow, Green and Dark Blue sets).
End of unfinished blog
The following day was Paul’s party in York. It was one of the best house parties I’ve ever been to. But it’s been a while and there was far too much too talk about it for me to have time to even begin.
The next Saturday (29th) was Dave Legg’s birthday meal and then out in town for Pete and Gav’s birthday. It too was wicked.
Friday the 5th I went to France with school to go to a museum on the occupation and to buy lots of cheap booze. The following Saturday I went to Sophie Ellerby’s.
This Friday (12th) I went to Oxford with John to stay with his sister Lizzy. It was an awesome night, and I was able to sample a Formal Hall at St Hugh’s, and then an aspect of Oxford nightlife. The following day I chatted to some PPEists about interview and stuff. So very productive,
Saturday 13th was Glyn’s drinking games night and then town to see Moreland, Gav, Lauren and Emily, none of which I see enough. Needless to say both parts of the night were wicked.
