Dreadlocks: should I, shouldn’t I? - 9:02 pm - 20-04-2008

Cons
- They would create opportunities for people who I don’t like to start conversations with me about them.
- This Sept/Oct I’m going to be meeting hundred of new people who I will rely upon for friendship for the next 3 years. Dreadlocks could make a bad impression and make it difficult for me to make friends.

Pros
- I’ve never given a shit about other idiots’ opinions before - why should I now?
- I think they’d suit me.
- Others have said they think they’d suit me.
- I feel that they create a good image.
- I’ve already spent money on getting the various things I need to make them

Opinions, boys and girls. The comment field is just down there waiting for you.

It really depends what kind of person who see yourself making friends with in Sept/Oct. In an ideal world I would say, “Fuck it, McAsh! Do you really want to be friends with people that judge you on your appearance?” And that would be the end of it. BUT, even cool people can’t help but make judgments based upon first impressions. You might look like a person who doesn’t give a fuck what other people think which might put some cool people off from approaching you. I feel, however, that this is not necessarily a bad thing because it might be dangerous to make to many friends. By the time you have got bored with the dreads you will have sussed who YOU want to be friends with and hopefully they will have had enough time to realise that although you look like a weirdo and smell a bit funky, you’re alright. I bet comment is longer than your OP: how embarrassing. You’re just lucky I’m not trolling you. Yet.

Please ignore typos in last comment. I am an intelligent and educated young lady but I am also very tired.
